For the time being, the band have decided to go their seperate ways but we would like to thank everyone who supported us, came to the gigs, bought the CD's and generally made it such a good trip. See you around hopefully.

Regrettably Mark will be leaving the band in the not too distant future as such we have a “situation vacant”, if you are a fiddle/violin player (electric violin not essential), we would be happy to hear from you.
Full support will be given as such if you are interested or would like more detail give Neil a ring on 07931-161722.

mmm, that's professional! Thank you BonDs. Also due to completely different circumstances we've sadly had to pull the Garrick Theatre gig in Stockport.

"As an added bonus for the gig at the Queens Hall, Barnoldwick on 29 Septmeber, we have invited the wonderful singer/ songwriter, Edwina Hayes, to do the gig with us. Based in Nashville as well as the UK, Edwina was described by none other than Nanci Griffith as having a voice “that is as sweet as angels.” She has toured with Van Morrison, Jools Holland and Daniel Beddingfield and co-written songs with the likes of Boo Hewerdine and Don Rollins. You can find out more about Edwina at http://www.edwinahayes.com/ This is a gig not to be missed! Tickets are very limited but are available for a special event price of £4 by calling 07845 198667 or contacting us via the website or myspace. Any remaining tickets will be available on the night for £5 but a sell-out is expected so it's best to book early."

Change of venue. The Dogs are pleased to announce that they will now be gigging at the Mill Theatre in Banbury (sorry don't know the name yet) on 15 December at the invitation of our new mates Leatherat. This promises to be a cracking gig, so if you live in the area or can get down there, it would be great to see you. More details will appear here and on our myspace page when we have them - and on Leatherat's site at http://www.leatherat.com/ The gig is replacing one we were doing for our good mate Rob's birthday. He's very kindly agreed to re-arrange his date so that we can do both gigs so, again, watch this space for news. Thanks Rob.

Blyth Power have let us know that Tallington Festival is cancelled. The reasons for this are quite bizarre so if you'd like to know more, have a look on their website at http://www.blythpower.co.uk/news/index.htm We're looking for an alternative gig for the 4th August, so keep an eye on the website for news.

Hey peeps, just a quick bit about the Worden Arts Centre gig in Leyland. It's on Thursday the 3rd August and tickets are now for sale from their box office - click HERE for details. They're a very reasonable £5 each.
It's recommended that tickets are purchased in advance as previous events have sold out prior to performance dates.
The new album is coming together swimmingly. We're hoping for a September/October release, and there will be a couple of surprises on the disk (we hope).
31/03/07
The band will be going into Peter's studio to begin recording a full album in April. We will be working on some original songs/tunes by members of the band and some of the new reworked folk songs that have been turning up in recent gigs. Obviously, these things take time but we hope that the CD will be available in the Autumn. Watch this page for news.
There's a link to Peter's studio (Assembly Line) on the links page.

The band are pleased to announce that Bluecrow Music, based in Sleaford, have taken us on to their roster of artists, and will be particularly active for us in the Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk areas, as well as futher afield. There's a link to Bluecrow on the "links" page.

Great news! Blyth Power have invited Silver Dogs to their festival at Tallington on 4th August. The Dogs are looking forward to being part of the gig. More details HERE. Cheers guys.

Silver Dogs have to announce that Roger Dyson has left the band. Roger joined us late in 2006 and we had high hopes that he would be our permanent bassist for many years to come. Unfortunately, Roger's love of all things Thin Lizzy has made it difficult for him to settle, and he's gone back to doing what he loves most, with Renegade and other Lizzy ventures. His contribution to our sound and stage presence in the short time he's been with us is much appreciated - we wish him well.
However, we are delighted to announce that Peter Knight (no relation to Mark) electric and acoustic guitarist, bassist, studio owner, producer, recording engineer, sound man (thoroughly sound bloke and not an ex-member of Steeleye Span) has stepped into the breach and has joined us on a permanent basis. It's a real coup getting Peter to join the band and if rehearsals are anything the go by, the upcoming gigs are going to be a blast! He's working his socks off to get up to speed and will make his debut with the band at the Polish Centre, Barnsley on the 3rd February.

The Dogs played at St Gerard’s in Lostock Hall with classic rock band Wrecked and helped raise a considerable amount of money for a fellow musician who had a serious accident recently, as it turned out we made a lot of friends that night and which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We slipped a couple of new numbers in which we’ve recently written inorder to “test the water” and which to our relief have gone down a storm given they mark a new chapter in our comparatively short history, we like them and it appears you do also!
It was good to see a few folk at our last gig wearing Silver Dogs t-shirts and even better to see some of them having been customised.
Our 2007 gig list is still being put together yet contains quite a few dates already so please mark them in your diary and keep visiting the web site for additional gigs, news, photo’s and downloads.
Finally we’d like to thank Chorley FM (yes Chorley FM is a real radio station broadcasting on 102.8FM) for championing Silver Dogs as a band with its roots in Chorley, playing our CD, featuring the band and its members and promoting our local gigs.
Happy 2007.

Silver Dogs regret to announce that we have withdrawn from the Legends of Lizzy gig at Tameside Hippodrome on 1st December.
The band was looking forward to the gig and the chance to share a stage with Renegade again, but the organisers' constantly changing terms, conditions and demands have made this impossible. However, we are looking forward to the Thatched House gig on the 18th, it's a great venue if you haven't been before, and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Andrew and the Dogs would like to thank all the people who came to see us at the Muni in Colne on the 29th and supported the memorial day for Chris Day. The event was a huge success. Eight bands in total ended up doing the day and every one of them went down a storm.
Andrew ended up losing his bet with Mark when the madfiddler jumped off the 5 foot high stage into the audience and disappeared behind the mixing desk - still playing like a man possessed!! See you at the Thatched House in Stockport.
22/10/06
Most of the line-up for the benefit gig for Chris Day (at The Muni in Colne on 29th October) has been arranged.
Bands appearing, as well as Silver Dogs, include Antimony, In At The Deep End, The Floorshakers and Dark Horse. The Dogs are still listed for 5.00 but we'll let you know here if there is any change. Tickets will cost £5 for the day (1.00 - 10.00) and are available now from Neil on 01282 868935.
The Dogs also have some tickets available as well. Each band will play a 40 minute set with a 20 minute turnaround, so it will be pretty much live music all the way. The bar will also be open all day! Hope to see you there.
16/10/06
Thanks to everyone who came to see The Garrick show on the 14th and in particular our two support acts Rocket and Pete “n” Linda.
We had a fantastic time thanks to the enthusiastic response we had and it was also good to share a pint with so many of you afterwards.
Make sure you book the 18th of November in your diary when we will be at The Thatched House, anyone wearing a Silver Dogs t-shirt will get free entry, alternatively if you bring along your Garrick ticket we’ll knock a quid off the entry price.
Finally, if you’ve not already done so, why not join our forum and newsletter?

Silver Dogs are proud to be gigging at a concert for former Slack Alice drummer, Chris Day, at the Muni, Albert Road, Colne on Sunday 29th October. Chris, who Andrew knew for many years, died suddenly a few months ago, and the gig will be a tribute from his mates to a great musician and a great bloke. The event is planned to start about 1.00 p.m. and the Dogs will be on stage for a 40 minute set about 5.00 p.m.
Tickets will be available from Pendle Leisure Box Office on 01282 661234. More details will be posted on our website when we have them or you can contact Neil on 01282 868935.

At last! After delays due to changes in personnel and other things, a 5 track Silver Dogs CD is now completed. Recorded at Shireshead Studios (and featuring newest Dogs members Mark and Roger), the CD contains favourites from the live set. The band took the weekend out to record these tracks, even though Mark was suffering from a football injury which rendered two of his fingers almost useless.
We hope to have the CD available for the Garrick Theatre gig on 14th October but, if not, arrangements will be made for copies to be posted on to anyone wanting to reserve one (or more!) on the night. The cost will be £5 (plus p&p if applicable) or £10 for a CD and t-shirt (again plus p&p if applicable). We look forward to seeing you at the Garrick, along with our friends Rocket (an amazing London-based indie band) and Pete and Linda, who will be starting the night off with a classy set of contemporary acoustic songs.
Also, watch this space for video footage of Roger and Neil re-enacting Steve Austin (the 6 Million Dollar Man) kicking a bad guy where it hurts.

The band would like to apologise to anyone who intended to come to the Shoulder of Mutton gig at Chapel-en-le-Frith which we had to cancel at the last minute. This was because we were badly let down by a dep bassist who was doing the gig with us to give Roger time to learn all the material.
Many thanks to Wrecked, who agreed to take over at the last minute, and the people at the Shoulder of Mutton for being so understanding. Silver Dogs will be there for the St Patrick's Day gig and look forward to a great night.
22/09/06
The great news this week is that our good mate, Roger Dyson, has joined the band as bassist on a permanent basis. Since Lindsay's departure in February, we have had the privilege of working with two dep. bassists, Geoff Orr and Doctor Pete Tillotson, who have both contributed so much to the band at gigs, in rehearsals and driving around in the van! Pete will be doing the Chapel-en-le-Frith gig with us but Roger will be taking over from then, first in the studio and then at the Garrick gig on 14th October. Roger will be well known to many of you, and with his musicianship, stage presence and behind the scenes energy, he will be a huge addition to the Dogs. Big smiley faces all round!
This gig list has also been brought completely up to date, and two new soundbites have been added to the downloads section.
Due to the line up changes the Dogs will also be in the studio, in a couple of weeks, to record a new demo CD to send to agents and promoters for next year. We'll add some soundbites to the site once this has been done.
14/09/06
Hurrah, we've finally got the new site online. There are a few teething problems, but all will get sorted. Please feel free to join our email list and join the forum . You'll also notice a few more gigs added, so check back soon as we'll be adding new features as we go.
26/07/06
Mark has taken over the administration of the Silver Dogs website, and whilst sunning himself in Turkey he's going to give it a revamp. It should be online within a month (or so - edited by Mark). We hope you will enjoy it.

Hey ho Dog Fans,
It is with regret that due to personal circumstances our erstwhile violinist Richard will be leaving the band. We have already found a replacement in that of 'madfiddler', Mark Knight, and he'll be taking over from Richard at the Folk in the Park gig, in Biddulph, on the 15th of July. Of course, we wish Richard all the best for the future, but also look forward to how Mark will contribute to the sound of the band.
